Friday 8th September
The first day's golf was held at Bingley St. Ives Golf Club. The course was fairly challenging, especially the middle nine holes where any wayward shots were punished severely by the heather which bordered almost every fairway. Tim managed to break the worst score ever record as a consequence of this.

Nearest the pin on the 7th hole
Gary won with a superb tee shot, and then sank the putt for a birdie !

The evening consisted of a meal at the Five Flags Hotel where we were staying, which was very good, followed by a trip down to the local pub to take over the pool table. Upon arriving back at the Five Flags we found that it was karaoke night, but unfortuneatley we were too late to take part. Never mind, we didn't have Bipin there to give us another fine rendition of "once.....twice.....three times a lady..." - just as well methinks.

Saturday 6th May
As usual Saturday was competition day. The venue was Branshaw Golf Club at Oakworth near Keighley. This was only about 5 minutes drive from the Five Flags Hotel, but we managed to lose 2 cars in the convoy. This was compounded by the fact the some of the players had clubs in the cars that had gone missing. Eventually the two missing cars turned up just about in time to tee off. The weather forecast earlier in the week had been awful for the whole weekend with heavy rain and high winds predicted. Luckily this turned out to be wrong, and Saturday was fairly bright with light wind and no rain. Bonus.

Handicaps were given based on scores posted into the golf system (which are based off yellow tees). Matt found some good form with his driver which he had a terrible time with last year on the same course, and was the clubhouse leader on 28 points after 6 players out of 11 had completed their rounds. Mick managed to win with 30 points after a somewhat dodgy start on the first 2 holes. Amazingly (or not), nobody hit the green for the nearest the pin prize on the 13th hole !

Sunday 10th September
Sunday's golf was played at Wike Ridge Golf Club in Leeds. The course was very wet after some very heavy overnight rain. This made putting very tricky for most players.
